Tip-enhanced strong-field photoemission.
Nonlinear photoelectron emission from metallic nanotips is explored in the strong-field regime. The passage between the multiphoton and the optical field emission regimes is clearly identified. The experimental observations are in agreement with a quantum mechanical strong-field model.
متن کاملWavelength-dependent study of strong-field Coulomb explosion of hydrogen
We present the first systematic wavelength-dependent study of laser Coulomb explosion of deuterium molecules at various peak intensities and polarizations. We measured the kinetic energy spectra of D for laser wavelengths in the range 480–2000 nm. In addition to the well-known enhanced ionization channel present for all wavelengths, we observe a new high-energy band at short wavelengths. This n...

متن کاملHigh visibility in two-color above-threshold photoemission from tungsten nanotips in a coherent control scheme
In this article, we present coherent control of above-threshold photoemission from a tungsten nanotip achieving nearly perfect modulation. Depending on the pulse delay between fundamental ([Formula: see text]) and second harmonic ([Formula: see text]) pulses of a femtosecond fiber laser at the nanotip, electron emission is significantly enhanced or depressed during temporal overlap. Electron em...
متن کاملMeasured photoemission from electron wave packets in a strong laser field.
We present calibrated measurements of single-photon Thomson scattering from free electrons driven by a laser with intensity 1018 W/cm2. The measurements demonstrate that individual electrons radiate with the strength of point emitters, even when their wave packets spread to the scale of the driving-laser wavelength. The result agrees with predictions of quantum electrodyn...
